Happy Independence Day!

Well, we survived Independence Day! No, I'm not talking about Will Smith and aliens. Although, Jeff Goldblum is far scarier than any alien can be. Like usual, we decided to forgo the Forest Lake Parade fiasco and just relaxed at home. Mr. Jordan had his big breakfast, which he loves. In the morning, he either wants PopTarts or bacon, eggs, pancakes, and hashbrowns. For ID, he had the latter.
We decided to have a late lunch/early dinner. We kept it traditional with dogs and burgers. The Hubs made some delicious burgers stuffed with bacon and cheese. Yummy, yummy! After dinner, we relaxed because...well, since we're all friends here, I'm sure that you can keep a secret...we definitely over-ate.
We would have loved to see a fireworks display, but it would have been way too late for Jordan. The boy refuses to nap now and by the evening, he is a jerk! So, we did a few in the yard before bedtime. He also played in sandbox (thanks for the sand, Grandma). However, I'm not sure if the child will ever get used to bugs and spiders. He freaks out...screaming and running when he sees one. Our brave little guy! Here he is dancing a little jig for us!
Our Madybug had a blast, despite her picture below. She likes to laugh at her brother and eat/suck any fabric that you allow to get close to her mouth. Where Jordan runs and screams, she is our little warrior. Nothing scares this girl. Jordan was afraid to hold a sparkler but Mady was jumping at the chance to get her hands on one.
We finished the day with ice cream for all. We had a great day and I hope that everyone else had one with their family as well.
