Date Night!!!

Oh, date night! Two words that most couples love to hear, especially those with small children. The Hubs and I get very few date nights. So, we relish those moments away from our darling children. And because we have so few of these precious moments we tend to do things that really utilize the time.
Our most recent date night was to a Twins game. For those of you that don't know, a baseball game is an awesome date! There's food and entertainment but unlike a movie or fancy dinner, you can carry on a conversation and really have a good time. I recommend it, even if you don't like baseball. And by the way, the new Target Field is pretty freaking amazing!

We had a blast! The Twins won and we got some much needed relief from Jordie and Mads. This date was also a test-run of the new field for when we bring the kids. We must definitely plan on going again. But I cannot guarantee that the kiddos will be with us!

Our big boy was invited to a classmate's birthday party. It was his first one; and boy, was he excited! His friend, Matthew, had a bowling party. The only bowling Jordan had ever done was on the Wii, so we were interested to see how it would go.
Never did I think that shooting zombies would be on the agenda. But somehow, Jordan and his friend, Owen, found themselves in the arcade. And of course, the game that would catch two little boys' eyes would involve guns and zombies. They were both very excited to "get them"!

All of the kids were watching intently as Matthew blew out the candles on his cake. Little did they know, they were trick candles!
Much like the Wii, it did not take long for Jordan to get bowling. Well, with some help from the gutter guards. However, honestly, I think the kids enjoyed playing with the balls more than the bowling.

That is until...

they discovered that...

they could send three balls down the lane at one time...

and chaos erupted. Here is a moment of calm before the storm:

So, all and all, Jordan had a blast. And it appeared that his friends did also. You know, bowling can be a metaphor for taking chances because once you throw that ball and it goes down the lane, all you can do is watch and see what happens!

Through the Eyes of Jordan

Wowzers, it's been quite a while since my last blog. Too many things have happened to go back and catch up. So, I decided to do a fun post.

My little bear, Jordan, has taken up photography. He got his own digital camera recently and has been snapping away. A 4-year-old with a camera can be a dangerous thing. He likes to get you in the most inopportune moments. However, here are a few pics taken by my Jordiebear. Enjoy!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Today the family went to a Twins game with the Hubs’s uncle Dan. Of course I was nervous because it was Mads’s first game and taking a baby to anything for the first time is scary. We thought it would be best to go to an afternoon game and this one was at noon. The only thing that we didn’t take into account was that it would smack dab in the middle of nap (usually rest) time. However, everything went well. Whew!

Mady had fun. She spent most of the game beating up Jordan which just happens to be HER favorite past-time. Jordan enjoyed his popcorn and the game. He was really getting into the game, especially stomping and clapping to “We Will Rock You” and the wave. The Twins lost 5 to 4. They gave it the old college try but it didn’t work out. We did discover that the Guthrie has cheap parking ($8) for Twins game. That was great! I even got quite the workout trying to find a place to nurse Mads. We ended up doing it in an office which was strange but it worked. However, anywhere would have worked after walking all over the Dome trying to find the family restroom (it doesn’t exist).

Overall, we had fun. Both kids went out without a fight. I am beat down and exhausted, but it was worth it!

Wordless Wednesday (Jordan Driving the Train)

Lookin' Spiffy

I would love to thank my wonderful, awesome, amazing husband for creating my banner for me. He is so talented! Feel free to check out his blog, the one and only official Matt Gockowski blog at http://thelimestonecowboy.blogspot.com which will feature some of his creations along with various photographs. Here's another plug for the Hubs: he also does comission artwork for those seeking drawings, etc of loved ones. I have some awesome ones for Mother's Day gifts.
